German sports car maker Porsche has released the full details and images of the new Porsche 911 Speedster which is due to have its world premiere at this year’s 2010 Paris auto show.
The Porsche 911 Speedster is powered by the standard 3.8-litre flat six-cylinder engine that has been tuned up to produce 408 hp and 420Nm of torque. This is a 23 horsepower increase on the 911 Carrera S and is controlled by a new seven-speed gearbox.
Porsche’s new sports car can hit 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 189.5mph (305km/h). For fuel consumption it averages around 27.43 mpg (10.3 litres/100 km) and produces 242 g/km of CO2 emissions.
The Porsche 911 Speedster was designed by the Porsche Exclusive department in the spirit of the classic 356 Speedster. Naturally, the open-roof, two-seater Porsche 911 Speedster will be built in only 356 examples worldwide.
Some of the features on the Porsche 911 Speedster includes; Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), safety roll-over protection system and the Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (VTS).
Other exterior features include; tinted front lights, black headlight surrounds, a black windscreen border, newly designed front spoiler, side skirts and a rear apron.
The interior of the Porsche 911 Speedster has been hand-finished in black leather and features various decorative designs with black and white patterns.
